Keeping calm is a bliss that most of us don’t achieve in life. When you keep calm in the most dreadful conditions of life, you open up the avenues for solutions. Everyone deals with the harsh challenges in our lives and to survive in our busy world, we need to be able to flourish and function.
1. Try 5 Minutes Meditation: Meditation can produce a deep state of relaxation and a tranquil mind. During meditation, you focus your attention and eliminate the stream of jumbled thoughts that may be crowding your mind and causing stress. This process may result in enhanced physical and emotional well-being.
2. Count to 10: Counting can relax you because it gives you something to focus on besides your anxiety. It's a great tool to use in a crowded or busy space like a store or train where other anxiety exercises might be more challenging to carry out. Relaxation is a skill you learn.
3. Get Moving (Excercise): Preventing and managing long-term stress can lower your risk for other conditions — like heart disease, obesity, high blood pressure, and depression.
4. Distract Yourself: It's essential to take healthy breaks along the way, especially when things get hard, like they are for so many of us right now. If we don't take these breaks, it's easy to let worry, fear, negativity, doubt, and the pressures of life take over, almost without us even noticing
5. Get help: Stress is a normal part of life. But if your stress doesn't go away or keeps getting worse, you may need help. Over time, stress can lead to serious problems like depression or anxiety. Finally, keep in mind that lots of people need help dealing with stress — it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Emotional and mental health is important because it's a vital part of your life and impacts your thoughts, behaviors and emotions. Being healthy emotionally can promote productivity and effectiveness in activities like work, school or caregiving.
